In loving memory of George Thomas Dixon who passed away in Sturgeon Falls, Wednesday September 11th, 2019 at the age of 78 years. Son of the late Ethel and William Dixon. Husband of Taina Niemi - Dixon. Father of Shelley Dowdall (Gord), Carrie Calvano (Paolo), George Dixon (Nicky), Billy, Dee-dee and Kathy (Ron). Loving grandfather of Harlee, Tyler, Megan, Maxwell, Cherra, Sammy-Jo, Joshua, Baylee, Brady, Daytton and Daniel. Brother of Ethel Penny (late Len) and Doris Penny (late Butch). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. George's first job as a tool cleaner was at Meredith Conelly Motors, then as a Pepsi Cola driver for years before being called in for an interview on April fool's day to work at Sudbury Transit where he remained until his retirement. He enjoyed his job as a bus driver. George went from city boy to country boy living his golden years on a farm in Markstay with his wife Taina of 32 years. He loved to dance, laugh and always had to put his two cents in, even when not asked for it. (Ha Ha). He loved to watch hockey and baseball, and played hockey in his younger years for the Detroit Red Wings Hockey Club. George will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Now he can join his favourite dog Chinook. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be confirmed at the Markstay Restaurant. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North Sudbury.
