Elizabeth Cahill Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Elizabeth (Beth) Louise Cahill on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019 at the age of 54 years. Loving daughter of Mary Evelyn (McGoldrick) and Harold Simon Cahill both predeceased. Cherished and much loved younger sister of Lynne Chenier (Roger), Mary Ellen McDonald (Brian), Kevin Cahill, Catherine Burns (Robert Whittaker), Larry Cahill (Marzia), Elaine Cahill (Wilfred Davey) and Evelyn Bulfon (John). She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews Jean-Mathieu, Daniel, Natalie, and Angele Chenier, Melanie McDonald, Laura and Cameron Cahill, Jessica and Sarah Burns, Danika and Kyle Cahill, Nicholas, Brendan and Carley Bulfon, as well as her many great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends. Beth loved all things nature; camping, fishing, working outside and especially sitting around a bon fire with those she loved. She was a minimalist, an environmentalist and a conservationist; never wasting, always recycling and encouraging others to do the same. Beth’s love of travel brought her to the Caribbean, Brazil, coast to coast in both Canada and the USA. Beth was a conductor with the Canadian Pacific Railway for 17 years; based out of Chapleau, Mactier, Perth and Sudbury. She will be remembered as a very independent and strong willed person whose sense of humour carried her through her challenges. She cherished life and when asked how she was, her response was always“GREAT”. She had such a zest for life and never gave up. Her light we loved so much shone through in everything she did. Beth was our “HERO”.She had many close friends that she enjoyed spending time with and who were a great support to her. A special thank you to Beth’s friends; Toby Hamel (cousin), Vickie Cameron, Sue Chiasson, Tracy Ross, and Jackie Ring as well as all the staff from the Northeast Cancer Centre, HSN, LHIN, Bayshore, Canadian Shield and Shared Cared team at Maison McCulloch Hospice for their care and compassion throughout her illness. It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them (author unknown). Beth we will always love and miss you. XOXO Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 1553 Weller St. Sudbury, on Sunday, January 5th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery (Mausoleum) Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society of Canada- Sudbury Manitoulin Chapter or Angels in Pink Breast Cancer Equipment Fund (Annette Cressy) would be appreciated.
