Petrie, Andrew 1953-2022

Its with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew Petrie on April 30,2022 at 10:52pm at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Born in Dundee, Scotland to Robert and Mary (both predeceased). Andrew will live on in his sons Scott, Jason, and Craig, as well as his grandchildren William and Cameron.

Andrew came to Canada at the age of 20, and by the time he was 24 years old he was running his own crew at Copper Cliff Mechanical and never looked back. He went on to work for various companies for the next 40 + years in Sudbury, which led to his name being cemented as a genius in the trade world.

Andrew had a big passion for sports and built a legacy in Sudbury as one of the best to have ever played the beautiful game of soccer. He had a huge love for golf, and his sons and friends had the privilege of taking this in with him. He wore his heart around his sleeve and everyone that knew him, knew that well. From charities, to donations, to just helping people out in need, Andrew was always there to lend his hand without questioning.

Andrew will be deeply missed by his fur babies, Max, Pouncer, Jockey, and also all the neighbourhood animals as Andrew was big into loving them all. Whether it was barbecues, birthdays, or Christmas time, Andrew was always there to open up his door to all, to host and have a great time. To the man, the myth, the legend, Andrew will be deeply miss by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.

Life isn’t always about sunshine and rainbows, and Andrew showed that with drive, determination, and passion you can achieve anything you put your mind to. He was a loving, caring, fun, funny, passionate man that would do anything for anybody, at any time.
