Animkii Antoine Koostachin

Beloved son of Rolanda Manitowabi of Wikwemikong and the late Pascal Koostachin of Fort Albany, Animkii Antoine Koostachin passed away at the young age of 27.  

Predeceased by Grandparents Antoine and Mary Louise Koostachin, and Rowland Manitowabi, Animkii was born in Sault Ste. Marie, then moved to his home community of Wikwemikong when he was a youngster. After schooling and college earning his Automotive Technician diploma, he pursued and gained his Red Seal Endorsement as a mechanic.  Animkii was a kind and caring young man, and keen at figuring the workings of vehicles, which he loved all of his life.  Animkii enjoyed playing with his son, Bentley, and family times like trips to the park.  He liked reading, cooking, swimming, music, and writing.  He had great skills in negotiating and in the development of his own philosophy.  

Animkii will be dearly missed by his mother, Rolanda (Jimmie baa), his son Bentley Antoine, his grandmother Rosemary (Clifford baa), his sister Hope, brothers Leo, Frank (Shanna), Douglas, Travis, Rodney. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Kyle, Chace, Silver, John, Nora, Reba, Raiden, Leah, his extended family, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and special sponsors Leah and Fred baa.  Animkii liked to reminisce about special times and moments in life, encouraging others to forgive and move on to bigger dreams.

Wake services will be at 1306 Kaboni Rd in Wikwemikong from the evening of Sunday, January 16.  Funeral services will be on January 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow.
