Art (Arthur) Deshevy
December 20th, 1947 – March 16th, 2026
The family of Art Deshevy is saddened to announce his passing on Monday, March 16th, 2026 at Health Sciences North, at the age of 78. He was the loved husband of Linda (Née Bosley) and beloved Dad to Ryan and Trevor. He was the very special Poppa to Serena, Maggie and Daisy who brough him immense joy and love.
Art is survived by his brothers Bruce (Sue), Daniel (Catherine), Martin, Thomas (Laurie) and sister Brenda.
Art was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Irene Deshevy (Née Belland) and his brother Jeffrey. Also predeceased by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donna and Ben Gignac, Harvey Bosley and Denise Bosley.
As a young man, Art excelled in hockey winning the Junior C Championship while playing in Parry Sound. In early years living in Sudbury, Art coached young players in hockey, successfully winning a Sudbury Championship with players who had never had the opportunity to play organized sports before.
Art’s father passed away at a very young age, leaving Art to feel a lot of responsibility in supporting his mother with raising the 5 children left at home. He worked at Falconbridge Nickel Mines for 30 years as a Draftsman and Shift Boss, retiring in 1999. In addition to his work life, Art was a talented self-taught wood worker and loved using Oak. His home reflects the love in furnishing and trim work.
He will be dearly missed by his family and especially his granddaughters.
Donations on his behalf to the Sudbury Food Bank or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
