Audrey (Combs) Ferguson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Ferguson (born Coombs) on Monday August 28, 2023, at the age of 87. She passed peacefully at the Maison McCulloch Hospice with family by her side. Daughter of Xavier and Mary Bourgon (born Shultz) both predeceased. Loving wife of Alexander (predeceased) and dearly missed by her children Raymond (Diane), Judy Maloney (Martin predeceased) and Patrick (Micheline). Dear grandmother to Brandy (predeceased), Jason, Jesse, Ralph, Misty, David, Daryl, Daniel, Melissa, Nicolas and Michel.

Dear sister of Earl (Eila, both predeceased), Mavis Coggins (Richard, both predeceased) and Patrick (Fern). She will be sadly missed by 28 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special thank you to all who helped in the care and support in the final weeks including daughter-in-law Micheline, special friends Donna, Jeanie, Terry-Lynne and Gary, all the staff at Bayshore and the Maison McCulloch Hospice, as well as Dr. Monica Susil.

Audrey was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Branch 546 Ladies’ Auxiliary (Lively) and was honoured to carry colours (flags) in their Remembrance Day parades and other special events. A woman of many talents, she will be remembered as a musician, mainly playing bass and singing. She was also very fond of sports especially baseball and loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and camping. Audrey was a great dart player and a “serious” euchre and cribbage player who also loved to relax watching nature shows. She was a generous and kind woman who would do anything she could for her family and friends. She had a terrific sense of humour with an infectious laugh. Audrey will be truly missed by all who knew her and whose hearts she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer-NOFCC will be greatly appreciated.

As per her request, there will be no visitation or service.
