We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Barb Morris at home in Chelmsford, at the age of 66. 

Born in Magnetawan, Ontario, to the late Norm and Reta Morris (née Stewart), Barb moved to the “Big City” where she worked at Woodbine Racetrack for 42 years. 

She leaves behind her loving brother Robert Morris (Lenore), nephew Mike Morris (Josée), niece Terri Black (Jeff) and her beloved great-nieces (Vanessa and Emily), and great-nephews (David and Gavin). She will also be missed by her “son” John Luongo and many other friends and family members. 

There are so many things to say about Barb and simply what a wonderful woman she was. Anyone who was lucky enough to know her will remember her hugs (the best!) and her generous heart. 

Although Barb lived in the GTA until 2022, her heart was in the North. She was a die-hard Sudbury Wolves fan. Barb loved everything about winter (including the Colorado Avalanche). When she wasn’t skiing or watching (or talking or thinking about) hockey, Barb was exploring nature and taking beautiful photographs. Barb’s knowledge about the O.H.L. was truly encyclopaedic!

When Barb loved, she loved hard and will be forever missed. We find comfort knowing that Barb is now reunited with her mom and dad. 

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
