Smith, Betty (née Davey) (1941 – 2023)

Our family is disheartened to announce the passing of our much-loved Betty Smith in Sudbury, Monday May 22nd 2023, at the age of 81 years in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Raymond and the late Carrie Davey (née Leach). Betty departs herself from her four children, Sue, Michael (Denise), Norm (Joan) and Terry (Katelyn) who will continue to love and support her loved ones here on earth. She embraced her grandchildren Mandy, Melissa (Mbongeni), Ashley, Stephanie, Chad (Maryse) and Kari Lynn (Braeden). She will continue to hold her great-grandchildren Isaiah, Davin, Kayla, Taty, Alyssa, Isaac, Lucas, Meliya, Zayden, Aimee, Joseph, Kaiyah, Aubree, and Adeline, close to her heart. Great-great-grandmother to her dearest Elijah who has been her bright light, keeping her on her toes for the past 6 years. He will sure miss her morning pancakes. Survived by her sisters Carol Aho, Marge Sloan, and Bonnie Laframboise. Predeceased by her sisters Joyce Osborne and Barb Kasprick.

For anyone who knew Betty, they will always remember her to be the one who accepted people without judgement and protected her family and friends at any length. She was unselfish and sacrificed her personal needs to ensure she cared for others.

She will always be remembered as loving, devoted, feisty and protective.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 27th 2023, from 1:00-4:00pm at 721 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, ON and a private burial will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
