Bill Irwin
October 17th, 1945 - March 18th, 2026
Unexpectedly, at the age of 80, Bill Irwin died in Mexico, his home away from home.
Left behind, cherishing his memory is his wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Irwin (née Plaunt). Also survived by his children Robin Traub (Brian), Jennifer (Craig Saiklay) and Stephen. Grandchildren Will, Gabe, Anabelle, Eden, Kaelan (predeceased), Raffi and Mackenzie. He loved being their Papa with all his heart. Bill’s sister Pat and brother Scott, along with their spouses and children were a big part of his life.
Married into the Plaunt family of Sudbury is where Bill met his best friends, cousins and in-laws. Nieces and nephew who were raised closely with his own children and grandchildren at the family cottage.
Bill’s superpower was being a really good friend to so many people. We love him and will miss him forever.
Bill’s Celebration of Life will take place at the family cottage in August.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Society of Canada (https://arthritis.ca/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate-online/) or Colon Cancer Research (https://cancer.ca/en/ways-to-give/donate-colorectal) would be greatly appreciated.
