Koivu, Brenda (née Musclow) 1956-2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Brenda Ellen Koivu (aka Alice) (née Musclow) at Health Science North on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 65 years after a lengthy stay. Daughter of Eleanor and Royce Musclow (both predeceased) and sister to Robert Musclow. Beloved wife of Raymond Koivu and treasured mother of Lindsey Koivu (Megan).

Brenda was the most kind-hearted, giving, and caring soul, who always put everyone ahead of herself. She loved music, dancing, socializing, bowling, camping, Big Macs, and a cold Coors Light. Her love of children and cats and dogs was incredible. Those who knew her, knew she had a heart of Gold and that she was so well loved.

We would like to thank the amazing Doctors, Nurses, PSWs and Housekeeping staff for their love and compassion. Special Thanks to Debbie, Roczan, and Veronique in ICU, Sally, Gen, Cindy on 6th Floor South, Renee, P.J., Sherry, Jodie and Danielle (PSWs) and Lisa (Housekeeping). Real Angels do wear scrubs. Oh, yes, we cannot forget Bruce Almighty in ICU. Thank you.

She will be missed by many cousins, her Aunt Greta and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 7, 2022, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 336, 66 Edison Road, Falconbridge from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Cremation arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
