CECILE, Craig (December 2, 1937 – March 19, 2025)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mom/Grams. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 19th at Health Sciences North.
Cecile will be greatly missed by her children, Barb (Greg Rienguette) and Greg (Joanne). She will be fondly remembered always by her grandchildren Kayla Rienguette, Tyler and Leah Craig, Chancey and Matt Miron; as well as her great grandchildren Logan, Brennan, Aria and Ava. She is predeceased and now reunited with her loving husband Ted (2020).
In her younger years Cecile enjoyed bowling and camping with Teddy and their children. They spent many great years at the trailer in Kukagami. She was one of the founding members of the Wahnapitae Community Centre and she especially loved working on the annual winter carnival committee and snow machine races. She was active in Girl Guides, being a Brownie leader for years. She was also well known in the community as a school bus driver, but she found her true calling working for the VON Adult Day Centre. Cecile was community minded and happiest when helping and working with others. She loved to have her hair done and never left the house without a nice outfit on. Thanks to Debbie and Liz for keeping her looking good for so many years.
In recent years she took great pleasure in any social engagement (dinners, fundraisers, holiday get togethers) in which she could spend time with Barb and Kayla, her loving sisters Diane Boutin and Sue Bertuzzi, her nieces, and special sister-in-law Bev Drabick. They will miss her dearly – family dinners won’t be the same without her.
The family wishes to thank the many kind and caring nurses and doctors we encountered over the short period of time grams was at HSN- especially Miguela on CMU and Beverly, Elizabeth and Christyna on ARCC.
As per Cecile’s wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service.
Cremation services have been provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
In lieu of flowers, donations to NEO Kids Foundation would be appreciated. https://hsnfoundation.com/donate/ (NEO Kids pediatrics fund)
