Christopher William Briggs
May 25, 1947 – May 10, 2026
Christopher William Briggs (78 years) passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his beloved home in Dogpatch. Chris was born on May 25th, 1947, to Cleo and George Briggs (predeceased) and raised in Creighton Mine.
Many fantastic years were spent at his outdoor haven on Ministic Lake. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed ice fishing, canoeing, and hunting in his younger years.
Chris retired from Inco after a lengthy career and was a staunch supporter of workers’ health and safety. He lived with fierce independence, and his love for music, watching sunsets, and the night sky was palpable.
Chris is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly (Kevin), Lesley Lynn (Steve), and Christy Dawn (Martin). There was a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He often expressed his genuine love and awe for them. Grandchildren: Nickolas, Emma, Bailey, Hannah, Sophia, Elliot, and great-grandchildren: Russell and Peter. Survived by siblings Monty (Shirley predeceased), Melanie (Bob), and Greg (Elaine). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews for his kind and loving nature.
The family is comforted by the notion that Christopher joins his eldest sister, Patti (predeceased), in heavenly hijinks. Many friends will cherish memories of his fun and adventurous spirit.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please wear your favorite rock n’ roll t-shirt and blast some Rush on your stereo. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
