Fournier, Claude 1941-2021
It is with great sadness that the family announces his death in Sudbury on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 80 years. Son of the late Joseph and the late Yvonne Fournier (née Paquette). Loving husband of Madeleine Fournier. Proud father of André (Monique) and Luc (Jocelyne). Sadly missed and forever remembered by his grandchildren Megan (Kyle), Caitlin, Danielle, Jasmine, and Tyler. Survived by his sister Madeleine Farnell (Terry, predeceased). Predeceased by his brothers Marcel (Hélène) and Maurice (Alice). As a brother-in-law and uncle he is greatly missed by a huge extended family. Claude is sadly missed by his long-time friends Claire and Fern Kingsley.
Claude retired from Falconbridge in 1996 after 30 years. He was active in his community, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Council and was a Scout Leader. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. Claude always looked forward to fishing on Three Corner Lake and Maskinonge Lake with his good friend Fern.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SickKids Foundation.
