Bye, Claudette (née Michael) 1942-2021
It is with great love and profound sadness, the family of Claudette Bye announce her death, Wednesday February 10, 2021 at the age of 78. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, she died peacefully at home surrounded by love. Beloved wife and best-friend of 57 years to William Bye. Cherished mother of five children; Julie McEachern (Cam), Billy Joe Bye (Holly-Dale), Jodi Orm (Ted), Jaymee Bye, and George Bye (Diana). Loving grandmother of Cam, Graeme, Wyatt, Autumn, Cedar, Maytland, Brooklyn, Carter, and her new precious great granddaughter Willow. Daughter of the late Charles and Laura Michael (née Clement) and also predeceased by her brothers Norman and Allan. She will greatly be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that were especially loved by her. Along with her husband, and fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit, she pioneered a successful career in the restaurant business. Later in life, Claudette retired and enjoyed family life with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved to feed the wildlife that would visit her yard. Her favorite two animals were a squirrel that she lovingly named Red, and a duck she named Sally. She will be best remembered for her kindness, humbleness, and that contagious smile. She had a great sense of humour and brought joy to so many lives. Although she will be deeply missed by her earthly family and friends, it gives them great comfort knowing she is again playing cards with her Mom, and finally reunited with her Dad and brothers. Due to the pandemic conditions, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
