C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Daniel Roger Gingras, survenu le 7 mai 2025 à Victoria, en Colombie-Britannique. Il était âgé de 69 ans. Originaire de Kapuskasing et habitait maintenant à Verner, en Ontario. Daniel laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée Hélène Chayer, ses filles Marie-Soleil (Denis) et Sophie (Ryan), ainsi que ses précieux petits-enfants : Alexe, Mikaële, Brielle et Caleb.

Il laisse également dans le deuil sa belle-mère Jeanne Chayer, ses sœurs et belles-sœurs : Louise (Michael), Denise, Vivianne (Dennis) et Louise (Barry), de même que ses nièces et neveux qu’il chérissait profondément : Jessica, Émilie, Jennifer, Anne, Katrine, Danelle, Trevor, Zakary, Henrick, Tessa, Nia, Liam, Lexi, Obi et Maeve.

Époux, père, grand-papa et oncle dévoué, Daniel avait un don rare pour créer des liens sincères et durables. Il croyait profondément en l’importance de bâtir la confiance des enfants, mission de vie qu’il accomplissait avec tendresse et engagement. Tous les enfants l’adoraient — sa bienveillance, son humour et sa sagesse faisaient de lui une présence rassurante et joyeuse.

Au cours des vingt dernières années, Daniel a œuvré dans le domaine de la philanthropie, mettant son énergie au service de projets communautaires porteurs dans le Nord de l’Ontario. Son travail a notamment contribué à la création de l’Hôpital régional du Nord-Est de l’Ontario – Horizon Santé Nord, au rayonnement de la Place des Arts de Sudbury, et au succès de campagnes de financement pour le Collège Boréal et la Maison McCulloch Hospice. Son engagement a laissé une empreinte significative dans la région.

Une cérémonie en son honneur aura lieu le vendredi 23 mai de 17 h à 19 h, à la Place des Arts de Sudbury.
La famille invite les personnes présentes à porter des couleurs vives pour célébrer sa vie.

It is with sorrow that the family announces the death of Daniel Roger Gingras, Wednesday May 7, 2025 in Victoria, British Columbia at the age of 69 years.  Originally of Kapuskasing, he was a resident of Verner, Ontario.  He leave in grief his beloved wife Hélène Chayer, his daughters Marie-Soleil (Denis) and Sophie (Ryan), and his precious grandchildren Alexe, Mikaële, Brielle, and Caleb.

He leaves equally bereaved his mother-in-law Jeanne Chayer, his sisters and sisters-in-law Louise (Michael), Denise, Vivianne (Dennis), and Louise (Barry).  Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Jessica, Émilie, Jennifer, Anne, Katrine, Danelle, Trevor, Zakary, Henrick, Tessa, Nia, Liam, Lexi, Obi, and Maeve.

Husband, father, grandfather, and devoted uncle, Daniel had the rare gift of being able to create sincere and durable bonds with others.  He sincerely believed in the importance of building confidence with children, a life goal that he accomplished with tenderness and dedication.   With his patience, humor, and wisdom he was a reassuring presence and joy that had children adoring him.

Over the course of 20 years, Daniel devoted himself to philanthropic projects, directing his energy into humanitarian projects dedicated to improving the communities in northern Ontario.  He was nominated for his contributions to the creation of the Northeast Regional Hospital – Health Sciences North, his influence with the Sudbury Place des Arts, and his success in finical campaigns for College Boréal and the Maison McCulloch Hospice.  His involvement has left a significant imprint on the region.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, Mai 23, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sudbury Place des Arts.  The family invites those in attendance to wear bright colours to celebrate his life.
