It is with great sorrow that the family announces his death in Sudbury, on Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at the age of 58, with his wife by his side. Son of the late Omer and the late Gwendolyn (Boyd) Lalonde. Dan will forever be missed by his wife and love of his life, Kathy (Coad) Lalonde. Beloved father of Dylan Lalonde and beloved stepfather of Jordan Haegeman (Tanner).
He was loved and will be truly missed by his brothers and sister through marriage, Richard and Eileen (Coad) Olivier and Greg Coad. He was loved by his niece and nephew through marriage, Stefan and Kerri Boucher, and his two special nieces he adored, Carrington and Kenzington Boucher. He truly loved all of his extended family and all of his friends.
Dan was a self-employed plumber in the Sudbury area for many years and he took a lot of pride in his work, owning D.G. Lalonde Plumbing & Heating and then KDL Plumbing & Heating. He knew many people and he was well-respected. Dan had a witty sense of humour and an infectious laugh. He was a one of a kind guy; everyone who met him enjoyed being around him.
He loved watching Sunday football, hockey, and Formula One racing. He especially loved living in the beautiful home he built from the ground up on the West Arm Lake Nipissing, where he enjoyed boating and working around the yard. He loved his fire pit, and there were many great days where the fire would be roaring, being enjoyed by many family and friends.
The family asks that donations in Dan’s memory be made to the Trillium Program at the North Eastern Cancer Center in Sudbury. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North Sudbury.
Rest well, My Love. Until we’re together again.
