In Memory of Daniel Lamontagne (October 3, 1970 – February 27, 2025)
Daniel Lamontagne (Big Dan) passed away after months of illness, finally finding the rest he often joked about after many close calls. He lived life his own way—through highs and lows, with a stubborn determination and a deep appreciation for the things that mattered most to him. Born to Francis Lamontagne (predeceased) and Sue Turgeon Blais (Rick). Dan was a proud father, a devoted son, and a brother who left his mark on those around him.
He was the loving father of Dan Jr. (Ashley) and Hope (Bruno), who were his greatest pride. Cherished brother of Pauline Byrnes (Greg), Paul Lamontagne (predeceased), and Lisa Lamontagne (Ashley), loved stepson to Richard Blais and stepbrother to Luc Blais (Julia) and Mona Miner (Moe). Dan will be sorely missed by many aunts’ uncles, nieces and nephews.
Dan had a talent for bodywork, restoring and fixing with skill, and a passion for drawing and tattoos. A teddy bear to the ladies and a bull to anyone who crossed the line, he valued loyalty, stood up for what he believed in, and always made time for those who needed an ear. Life wasn’t always easy, but he found strength and resilience in the way he lived for Cars, Babes and Rock & Roll!
Those who knew him will remember his wit, and the way he carried himself—unapologetically and on his own terms.
Dan is now reunited with his best friend and brother Paul, a bond that neither time nor death could break.
His family and many friends will deeply miss him, but his spirit lives on through the stories, laughter, memories he created and moments that won’t be forgotten.
Rest easy, Big Dan.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025, at the Large Hall at Club 50 de Rayside Balfour, 25 Main Street West, Chelmsford, ON, from 1-4pm.
