It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Darla Jean Goheen with her sister Patsy by her side at Pioneer Manor on Monday, February 23, 2026, in Sudbury, Ontario, at the age of 67 years.

Born on October 28, 1958, in Chapleau, Ontario, Darla was the beloved daughter of the late Fred and the late Elizabeth Goheen (née Collins). 

Darla was a devoted and loving mother to Chelse (Viviano Cerilli) and Tommy Stechyshyn.

She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Viviano III and Lee, who brought immense joy and light into her life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she spoke of them often with deep love and pride.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Patsy (Don), Fred (Lori), Kevin (Chantal), Lori, and Dereck, as well as by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart.

She carried with her the strength, warmth, and resilience that defined her throughout her life. After battling a lengthy illness with courage and determination, Darla is finally at peace. Despite the challenges she faced, she never lost her sense of humour. If anybody could make you laugh, it was Darla. Her quick wit, playful spirit, and infectious laughter will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pioneer Manor for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will, in Chapleau, will be announced at a later date.
