In Loving Memory of David Robert “Dave” Therrien
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on October 13th, 2025, at the age of 77.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Karen (Wight) Therrien. Loving father of Scott (wife Ginger) of Havelock, and Jason of Edmonton. Proud Papa to Grace and Ty — his greatest joy.
Dave absolutely adored his grandchildren and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines, especially when it came to a good hockey game.
Born in Chapleau, Dave was the youngest child of Fred and Adrienne (Levesque) Therrien (both predeceased). He moved to Havelock as a young boy, where he grew up surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was the last surviving sibling, now reunited with Romeo, Lorraine Carrier (Cam), Bea Carrier (Al), Hank Therrien (Kit), Marion, and Irma Therrien. He also rejoins his beloved fur babies, Bronx and Piper.
Dave was known for his larger-than-life personality and sharp wit — qualities that made him a favourite among his many nieces and nephews.
A true outdoorsman, Dave loved hunting, fishing, and simply “running the roads.” He was an unapologetic collector — what others might call junk, he saw as treasure. He had a notorious sweet tooth and a special weakness for butter tarts, always knowing where to find the best ones.
Family was everything to Dave. He never turned down a game of cards and cherished every gathering, big or small.
In the summer of 2023, Dave and Karen moved to Sudbury to begin a new chapter together. For the past year and a half, Dave lived at St. Joseph’s Villa, where his charm and mischief kept the staff on their toes. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and PSWs at the Villa for their compassionate and exceptional care, especially during Dave’s final days.
As per Dave’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He will be laid to rest with family in Havelock.
