Deborah "Debbie" Penteris

In loving memory of Deborah (Debbie) Penteris (nee Hatzis) August 21,1949-June 3, 2022.

Deborah passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the age of 72 years. She was born and raised in Agia Soteria, Greece and immigrated to Canada at the age of 9 years.

Beloved daughter of Paul and Rita Hatzis (both predeceased), and sister to Vicky Kontonikolas (Chris) of Toronto Ontario.

Beloved wife of the late Mantheos (Akis) Penteris, predeceased 1974.  Loving mother to Joanne (Keith St Onge), Christina (Tina) predeceased 2008, and Maria Penteris of Sudbury Ontario.

Cherished Nana to Jessica (Connor Zubal), Justin, Nathan, Aliyah, Taylor, Calyssa, and Jensen.

Deborah will also be missed by her loving nieces and nephews, and friends who became like family.

Deborah will be remembered for her compassion, love for family, protectiveness, independence, strength, bravery, courage and sass.

She fiercely loved her daughters always teaching them to be strong and independent and leading by example that family always comes first while emphasizing the importance of taking care and supporting each other.

She enjoyed cooking and baking while listening to her favorite music which included Tom Jones, Abba, and Greek music. She was passionate about planting flowers always striving to beautify her home in which she lived independently for 40 years.  Most of all she loved spending quality time with her daughters, son in law and grandchildren.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Pioneer Manor Staff for providing excellent care and support to Deborah for the past 4 years.

Private family gathering with burial to follow at Parklawn Cemetery on Saturday June 11, 2022 where Deborah will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter.  Celebration of Life reception to follow at 6 pm at Joanne and Keith’s residence.
