Dorothy (Dolly) (Thibeault) Hunt

HUNT, Dorothy (Dolly) (née Thibeault) 1944 – 2024

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Dolly on November 23, 2024, at the age of 80 years at Countryside Extendicare.

Daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Thibeault.  Beloved wife for 61 years of Wayne Hunt.  Dolly will be sadly missed by her children Debbie Hunt (Larry Paguandas), Dawn Hunt, and Gail Hunt (David Anderson). Cherished and fondly remembered by her 3 grandchildren Cole Bignucolo (Caitlin), Madison Hunt (Jesse) and Sydney Hunt. Dear sister to Leonard Thibeault (Margaret predeceased) and aunt to Charlie and Jacy

Dolly lived her life with a deep love and caring for those around her, with lasting friendships made during her childhood, career and pastimes.  Throughout her career, Dolly worked at the Ministry of Environment, Ontario Clean Water, CRA and NAR, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues.  Her work ethic and dedication were evident in everything she did, and she made a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of working alongside her.  As a wife, mother and grandmother she will always be remembered for her listening ear, supportive hugs, and as an amazing seamstress.   Her legendary cabbage rolls and butter tarts always involved a spirited competition as family members fought for the last helping.  While her battle with dementia robbed her of these pleasures during her final years, we will never forget. 

The family extends its deep appreciation to the staff at Countryside Extendicare for all the loving care given to Dolly.

As per her wishes there will be a private family burial at a later date. Donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
