Douglas Donald Sanders, of Dowling Ontario passed away on February 18, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born to parents Donald and Winifred Sanders on May 8, 1954 in Waterloo, Ontario.Doug graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College and received a diploma in Forestry were he started his career in Pine Falls, Manitoba as a Bush Foreman. He then transferred to Wawa, Ontario with Abitibi Price and then moved to White River Ontario. After 28 years in White River he moved to Sudbury entering into the mining sector as a Purchasing Agent. Doug married the love of his life, Donna, in 1980, who survives him. Doug is also survived by his son Craig and daughter Christa Kerr and partner Jeremy, as well as his three beautiful grandchildren, Sienna, Kayden and Jaxon. Doug was predeceased by his father Donald. Doug was known for his infamous guest speech and the 5 L’s of life which he fully embodied: Live, Laugh, Love, Learn and leave a Legacy. Living his life to the fullest through sailboarding, scuba diving, skiing, traveling and the latest skydiving. Always looking for an opportunity to Laugh, Doug’s laughter was contagious and his smile infectious. Loving his family and friends. Learning was his passion, he was the guy who knew a little about a lot. His legacy is with everyone he touched. Doug’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 12:30 - 4:00 pm at Respect is Burning - 82 Durham Street, Sudbury, ON. In lieu of flowers, people can make a donation to the Regional Cancer Centre in Sudbury.
