CHENIER, Elizabeth (Betty)
January 12, 1942 – February 4, 2026
The family announces with great sadness her passing on February 4, 2026, in Sudbury, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of 63 years to Robert. Lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel (Doris), daughter Debbie, and granddaughter Jenna. Daughter of late John and Mary Gallson. Dear sister to Phillip, Donald, Jack, Jimmy, Jean, Joan, Barbara, Maisie, and Hilda.
Betty worked as a teacher from the age of 16 to 55 nurturing the lives of many students in the Mattawa and Sudbury region. She loved gardening and the wildlife it attracted, then also enjoyed sharing that knowledge with others. She loved the great outdoors, bird watching, and spending time at camp fishing with family. In her retirement years, she enjoyed bowling, dancing and many other social activities.
The family would like to thank the wonderful group of dedicated PSWs and other professionals for their years of support at home during her battle with dementia. Rest in peace Mom. We love you, xo.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
