EDMUNDS, Floyd (1933 – 2025)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Floyd Edmunds on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Maison McCulloch Hospice at the age of 91 years. Son of the late Ira and Cora (Lyons) Edmunds. Husband of the late Doreen (Marcotte) Edmunds. Cherished father of Rick (Rae Ellen), Perry (April), Jeff (Linda). Very special Papa to Scott, Katie Kauffeldt (Jay), Sarah, Shane (Samantha), Jennifer Sauder (Matt) and Kali. Proud Poopsie to Lily, William, Abby, Becca, Grayson, Logan, Teagen, Isabelle, Amy and Sophia. Brother to Arnold (Dinah) both predeceased and Eileen Brann (Alex predeceased). Survived by sisters-in-law Pat Marcotte and Sheila Marcotte.
Floyd worked at Falconbridge Mine as a diamond driller and was very fortunate to have collected his pension for the same number of years as he had worked. Floyd was married to Doreen (the love of his life) for over 70 years. After she had passed in September 2024, his heart was broken and his health rapidly declined. Floyd enjoyed spending many summers at the trailer in Verner. He always liked to putter around the house and sometimes his handy work required some extra help to repair his improvements. Floyd never complained about his health even after surviving numerous serious health issues.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Maison McCulloch Hospice for the wonderful care in his last days. To the Bayshore nurses and PSWs, thank you for being there for him. To all the staff and residents at Amberwood, we are so grateful for the love, care and compassion you gave Dad, especially after Mom passed away. Dad loved you all.
There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the exceptional care Dad received from Dr Mary Olsten. She visited with him multiple times in the last few weeks of his life and even went to visit him the day before he passed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
Ash Burial will take place Saturday May 10, 2025, at St. John's cemetery, 34 Garson-Coniston Road, at 11:00 am. A celebration of his life to follow from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at The Colonial Inn, 28 Cedar St, Coniston.
Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
