March 2, 1942 – November 28, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gabrielle “Gabby” Gaudette, who peacefully left us on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 82, in Sudbury. Born on March 2, 1942, Gabby was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth, kindness, and infectious smile touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Gabby was predeceased by her younger brother Peter, and beloved husband, Vic Rakochy, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love. Together, Vic and Gabby created a life filled with cherished memories, love, and laughter.
Daughter of the late Adele and Richard Harrigan, Gabby is survived by her best friend and twin sister, Denise Carrière, with whom she shared a bond unlike any other. Their connection was a truly special, lifelong friendship that transcended time and distance.
Gabby leaves behind her three beloved daughters, Denise Collins (Andre), Joline Gaudette (Neil), and Nathalie Dominico (Kevin), who were the center of her world. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Erica (Gilles), Jessica, Jordan (Tammy), Joshua (Brigitte ), Mason (Jessica), Maria, Malory, and Jamie-Lynn, each of whom she loved with all her heart. Gabby was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to three precious little girls: Jaycee, Jensen, and Gabbi, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Her family was her greatest treasure, and she will be deeply missed by them, and by many nieces, nephews and friends who cherished her bright spirit and warm, loving presence. Gabby’s smile was contagious, and her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Many thanks to the staff on the 6th floor, South Tower at HSN. Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Trebb, Andrea, Makaylah for their care, guidance and support. Jelena your smile was always appreciated.
A celebration of Gabby’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in her memory.
Rest in peace, Gabby. You will forever be loved and remembered.
