Gerald Dexter Clyke Jr.
February 14th, 1960 – March 21st, 2026
After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Gerald Dexter Clyke Jr. passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, in his 66th year.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife, Mandalena of 40 years. Dear father of Khaila, Brianne, Karin and Cassandra, all of Ontario. Loving Papa of Gerry, Frankie, Donavan, Isaiah and Elliott. Survived by his brothers and sisters, Sheryl (Bruce – predeceased), Charmaine (Thomas), Geraldine (Paul), Cathy (Sugith), James (Kathy), Henry (Lisa), Dean (Naomi), Aaron (Melissa), Tara (Mark), Cindi (Conrad), step-mother Linda Clyke, father-in-law Simos Kyprianou (Helené) of Sudbury, Toronto, Vancouver, Australia, Edmonton and London, England. Predeceased by his parents Gerry and Lillian of Sudbury, Ontario and sister, Debra-Lee of Ohio.
His courage in his final months matched his determination throughout his entire life. He was the beloved uncle of many nephews and nieces. Much missed by his many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Gerry loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends to discuss sports (an avid fan of the Montreal Canadians), a little dancing, fishing, golfing, or play with his grandchildren which always ended up with a pile of children on Gerry.
Gerry was a long-time employee of the Sudbury Vascular Lab, prior to his retirement. He built close friendships, took the time to make every new hire feel welcomed and valued, turning colleagues into family.
Gerry is fondly remembered as a kind gentle soul. Saying our final goodbye has been painful.
Our sincere thank you to Health Sciences North staff. A special thank you to nurse Kim Spicer who compassionately cared for Gerry while he remained at home. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for their loving care and support during Gerry’s final days. A special thank you to nurses, Mel, Morgan, Dr.Mel and PSW Chantel for their exceptional kindness, compassion and tender care.
A Celebration of Gerry’s life will take place in the First Baptist Church, 2603 Falconbridge Hwy, Garson, Ontario, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at noon. A light lunch will follow.
Gerry would be honored by a gift made to the First Baptist Church at firstbaptistsudbury@gmail.com and /or the Maison McCulloch Hospice at www.maisonmccullochhospice.org
