Hyde-Lampkie, Geraldine (née Bregar) (1940 – 2025)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Geraldine Hyde-Lampkie (née Bregar) announces her passing in Sudbury, August 21, 2025, at the age of 85 years.

Beloved daughter of the late Peter Bregar and the late Lena Bregar (née Rivers). Adored wife of Don Lampkie for the past 31 years. Predeceased by her first husband of over 26 years, the late Donald Hyde, and her sister Jenny Gorman. Dear mother of Janie Durigon (Mel), Jodie Koski (Randy), stepchildren Brian, Lorie and Wendy. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Cara Colilli (Julian), Brad Durigon (Christina), Katie and Eian Koski as well as by her great grandchildren Abigail, Emily and Amelia.

Gerry was a dedicated worker at Falconbridge Nickel Mines for more than 30 years. In retirement, she cherished her time with Don as snowbirds in Naples, Florida, socializing with the many close friends they made there, going for long walks and sunny drives, or just sitting outside enjoying each other’s company at the end of the day. She always looked forward to the annual shopping trips with the girls. At home Gerry loved hosting family dinners.

Some people go a lifetime without finding the words to say how much they love and appreciate those around them, but not Gerry. She modelled gratitude, regularly remarking to her family how lucky we were to have each other and how proud she was of each of us. Having lost her first husband too soon, she knew how precious life was. She will be remembered by those that loved her as someone who exemplified a strong will, upstanding character, graciousness, and pride. She set a high bar for those after to follow.

The family extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice, as well as her nurses Krysti and Andrea from Bayshore, for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Gerry and her family.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations can be made in her name to Maison McCulloch Hospice.
