Gregory “BUCK” BUCHANAN
(July 19, 1947 - February 03, 2026)
It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory “Buck” Buchanan announce his passing on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Sudbury, at the age of 78 years.
Buck was instrumental in the formation of NickelBelt Section, (August 2001) of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group. Known widely for his mechanical skills (from another universe)~ Buck was of The Mechanical Whisperer kind. When asked of Buck’s father ~ “When did you realize that Buck had a special gift for mechanics?” Ken answered: ” Easy-when Buck was a child , and if his toy was not working as it should, Buck would take the toy apart , fix it, and put it back together. AND the toy always worked, and in most cases better.” Unselfish with his knowledge of mechanics teamed –up with his bottomless passion for motorcycling resulted in a formidable personality. Buck was a gentleman held in high regard by those fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance. Quiet, kind and unassuming, Buck was the epitome of goodness . Buck’s impact on the world was undoubtedly massive, witnessed by the huge crater of good that remains . It was our privilege to have Buck as a NickelBelter.
Condolences to the family of Gregory “BUCK” BUCHANAN, survived by his loving spouse Patricia “Trish”, siblings; Margaret BARRY, Cameron BUCHANAN, children: Derek BUCHANAN, Adrian PROCEVIAT, Shannon (BUCHANAN) and May Buck.
Rest –In- Peace !
