KOROSCIL, Gwen Janet (née Sweeney)
It is with heavy heart that the family of Gwen Koroscil announces her passing in Sudbury, Thursday April 24, 2025, at the age of 71 years. Daughter of the late Clayton Sweeney and of the late Betty Sweeney (née Smith). Beloved wife of Doug Koroscil. Loving mother of Melanie (Rodney) and LeeAnn (Darryl). She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her granddaughter Haley. Survived by her sister Connie. Predeceased by her brothers Gary (Pat) and Danny and by her sister Lynn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She had a passion for exploring new horizons, and her travels took her to beautiful destinations, where she created cherished memories and made friends in every corner. Her snowbird golf outings were a highlight of each winter - not because she was chasing a perfect score, but because she loved the camaraderie and the connections made on and off the course.
She will also be remembered by family and friends as a truly gifted cook. She had a remarkable ability to turn simple ingredients into unforgettable meals. Her food, much like her spirit, was full of heart, generosity and love and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Shirley & Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre for the care and compassion.
Donations can be made in her name at Shirley & Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre.
