Hector Imbeau Obituary

Hector Imbeau

April 23rd, 1933 – March 11th, 2026

In loving memory of Hector René Imbeau who left us on March 11th, 2026, (92 years old).  Hector had a peaceful passing with his family by his side after a brief stay at HSN in Sudbury.

Born in Sturgeon Falls, Hector was the son of the late William and Aurore Imbeau (née Dicaire).  Devoted husband of Léonie Robichaud-Imbeau, (born Fournier).  Beloved father to Daniel (Sherrie) of Ottawa and Ronald (Colleen) of Barrie.  Predeceased by his brothers Jean-Paul (Laurette), Roland (Juliette), Edgar “Pete” (Lorraine), Jacques (Desnaiges) and  sisters Françoise (Gaston), Jeanne D’Arc ((Wilfrid).  Will be missed by his grandsons Neil (Tara), granddaughters Christine and Julie Burke (Mike), Jeff (Crystal) and Shannon Schulz (Tyler). He will also be missed by his great grandchildren Addisyn and Ty Imbeau, Riley, Daelyn and Everly Nicholls, Ava and Jace Burke, William, Breanna, Nathan Pratt and Brody Schulz.

Will also be lovingly remembered by Léonie’s children, Jacqueline Giroux (André) Hanmer, Ella Cutler (Gord) Sudbury and predeceased by Donald Robichaud (2009) and Réginald Robichaud (2025).  Pépère will also be missed by Dallas Rocheleau (André) of London, Derek Giroux (Angie), Sarah-Jean White (Matthew) both of Sudbury and grandchildren Joelle, ChrisTian, Bradley, James and great grandchildren Nicholas, William, Kenith, Joseph, Hannah, Hayley and Adrianna.

Will be sadly missed by his wife Léonie whom he met in 1978, and had a relationship together for over 47 years, but actually only married since December 2020 when they finally tied the knot of a married couple.  After retiring with 33 years of service for INCO, they enjoyed several years camping at Blue Jay trailer park in Noëlville, camp Iron Bridge and a few winters in Florida. Will be missed by his friends at Gateway Casino where he would sit having coffee and teasing the staff with the occasional gambling in trying to win some money.  Loved his two favourite stores, Canadian Tire and YIG in Chelmsford, he spent many hours there enjoying the staff and teasing them.

Rest in peace, Hector.  You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke or HSN would be appreciated.  A mass will be held at a later date.

Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
