Helen Champaigne (née Jessiman) July 21, 1935 – February 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Helen Champaigne on February 2, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Toronto, on July 21, 1935, Helen lived a life full of love, strength, and adventure.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd Champaigne, beloved daughter and cherished twin boys. She was a devoted mother to Jo-Anne (predeceased) (husband David Viau), Michael (wife Kelly), Nancy (husband John Laviolette), and Tommy Champaigne (wife Mary). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jennifer Viau, Maggie and Jordan Champaigne, Chelsea Roy, Tommy, Mackenzie, and Katharine Champaigne. Her legacy continues in her great-grandchildren, Ryan Sabourin, Benjamin Larocque, Rory and Riley Champaigne, and Wyatt and Brinley Roy.
Helen had an indomitable spirit—strong-willed and feisty yet deeply loving. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: long car rides, the thrill of the slots, and baking, where she was renowned for her legendary butter tarts .
Helen’s strength, love and stubborn spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
