1951 – 2020

With heavy hearts the family announce the death of Irene Melanson at the age of 69 years. Irene passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, July 29, 2020 following a brave battle with cancer.

Irene will be sadly missed by her loving husband Cyrille Melanson whom she married 51 years ago on July 12, 1969. She is the loved mother of Carol [Mark] Townsend, Nicole [Chris] Newell and Cleo [Lianne] Melanson. Lovingly remembered by her granddaughters: Jordan, Kennedy, Arianna, Bryn, Brooklyn, Kamryn and Courtney. Also survived by her brothers: Oscar [Patricia] Paquette, Henri [Jeannine] Paquette, Roger [Joyce] Paquette, René [Dianne] Paquette, Leonard [Carmen] Paquette and sister-in-law Carmen Paquette; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ernest Paquette and Florida Paquette [née Lagrandeur]; brother Hector Paquette and sister-in-law Lorraine Paquette.

The family wishes to thank Maison McCulloch Hospice and the Nursing Staff of Bayshore Health Care, especially Christina, Colleen and Ashley for the excellent care and compassion shown to Irene and her family during this difficult period.

A private inurnment service will take place at Civic Cemetery – Sudbury. Memorial contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice. Cremation services in care of Simple Wishes of the North – Sudbury.

La famille annonce le décès de Irene Melanson à l'âge de 69 ans. Irene est décédée paisiblement dans le confort de sa maison entourée de sa famille, le mercredi 29 juillet 2020, à la suite d'une lutte courageuse contre le cancer.

Irene laisse dans le deuil son époux bien-aimé Cyrille Melanson qu'elle a épousé il y a 51 ans le 12 juillet 1969. Elle est la mère bien-aimée de Carol [Mark] Townsend, Nicole [Chris] Newell et Cleo [Lianne] Melanson. Ses petites-filles se souviennent d’elle avec amour: Jordan, Kennedy, Arianna, Bryn, Brooklyn, Kamryn et Courtney. Elle laisse également ses frères: Oscar [Patricia] Paquette, Henri [Jeannine] Paquette, Roger [Joyce] Paquette, René [Dianne] Paquette, Leonard [Carmen] Paquette et sa belle-soeur Carmen Paquette; plusieurs nièces et neveux. Prédécédée par ses parents Ernest Paquette et Florida Paquette [née Lagrandeur]; son frère Hector Paquette et sa belle-sœur Lorraine Paquette.

La famille tient à remercier la Maison McCulloch Hospice et le personnel infirmier de Bayshore Health Care, en particulier Christina, Colleen et Ashley pour les excellents soins et la compassion dont ont fait preuve pour Irene et sa famille pendant cette période difficile.
