James Sharp (1941 – 2025)
It is with deep sorrow that the family of James Sharp announces his passing in Sudbury, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the age of 84 years. James was the beloved son of the late Murray Sharp and the late Wenna Sharp (née McElman), stepmother Natalie predeceased. Predeceased by his wife Gail (née McKinnon). Cherished companion of Barb. Loving father of Darla, Brian (Tracy) and the late Bruce. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jaime Leigh (Dale), Cody, Jenna, Jordan (Brier) and Devon (Matt), as well as his great-grandchildren Brody and Cato. James is survived by his siblings Janice Winn (Reg) and John Sharp (Robyne). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he considered family
James dedicated 30 years of service to the Greater Sudbury Fire Department, retiring as Platoon Chief in 1997. He was also a founding member and first Captain of the Skead Volunteer Fire Department.
A resident of the community of Skead for 55 years, he was an active member of the community and an avid outdoorsman who was always ready for any adventure that came his way.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Monique St. Martin and to the staff at St. Joseph Continuing Care Centre for their compassionate care.
A celebration of James’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1st, at the Skead Community Centre from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
