It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie Angus Ashe, who went peacefully on the evening of Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 at 61 years old.
Beloved father to Kristen and Erica Ashe, husband to Tammy Ashe (nee Bracken), and brother to Janice (Kevin) Mercer. He was a special son-in-law to Clair (Sheila) Bracken, and Douglas (Edith) Logan. Jamie now reunites with his parents, Ruth (nee Ferguson) and Basil Ashe, mother-in-law Edith Logan, and family dog, AJ.
Growing up in the small town of Kirkland Lake, Jamie was raised a passionate sports fan, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Bills. He spent his youth playing a variety of sports, as well as organizing hockey and baseball tournaments with his friends. Jamie shared a love for euchre and golf. He spent many days over the years golfing at Old Chemmy with his close friend, and brother-in-law, Brad Bracken.
Jamie will be remembered for his sense of humour and witty remarks. He always had the perfect one-liners to say to make a room full of people laugh, no matter the situation. He will be missed dearly by his nieces and nephews, as well as his in-laws, friends, and extended family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jackson, Dr. Gopalakrishnan, and all of the healthcare workers on 4 North at HSN as they supported Jamie and his family throughout his journey. Their dedication and compassion for their patients and families did not go unnoticed.
With respect for Jamie's wishes, a private celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northeast Cancer Centre in his honour.
Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
