Munroe, Jayne (nee Pender) (1955 - 2025)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jayne Munroe (nee Pender), who passed away at the age of 70 on August 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born on July 30, 1955, in Sudbury, Ontario, Jayne was a kind, loving and giving person; never putting her needs before the needs of others.
Beloved daughter of June and Merv Pender (predeceased) and dear sister to Ron (Anita predeceased) Jim, Bob (Wendy) and Don (Jeanne).
She is survived by her husband, Bud Munroe, daughters Lindsay Munroe (Justin) Jessica Blais (Adam), her beautiful grandchildren, Ellie, Linden and Vaughan, and her four-legged friend, Tucker, who never left her side.
She loved socializing with coworkers, close friends and neighbors, golfing and spending her days on Long Lake with her grandkids.
She had a passion for gardening and was well-known for her beautiful flower gardens and meticulous landscaping. Her yard bloomed with colour and life. She worked tirelessly to improve her gardens each summer.
Jayne had a successful 37 year career with the Ontario government, retiring in 2009 as a Business Coordinator with the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services division of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
She will be profoundly missed by all those who had the good fortune of having her in their lives.
A special thank you to the care team at the Hospice for taking excellent care of her in her last days, to the social workers, nurses and PSWs for caring for her at home, and to the care team at the ALS Clinic at Sunnybrook Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to ALS Canada or to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
