Grimard, Jean-Marie (1936-2022)

With deep sorrow, the Grimard family announces the death of their beloved father Jean-Marie in Sudbury on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the age of 86 years. Son of the late Conrad Grimard and of the late Annette Ouellette. Loving husband of over 63 years to Jeannine Grimard (née Desrochers). Dear father of Jean-Pierre (Claudette Kingsley), Joanne Grimard (late Daniel Beaudry), Linda Chénier (Claude), Stéphane (Donna St-Onge), Chantale Lafrenière (André) and Micheline Démoré (Richard). Jean-Marie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alain (Sarrah), Michel (Stéphanie), Nicholas, Jonathan, Kayla (Nathan), Kevin, Bryan, Jean-Claude (Reegan), Samantha (James), Josée (Devin), Amanda, Stéphanie (Nick), Christopher, Lindsay, Jessica and by his great-grandchildren Ashtin, Alan, Sophie, Jacob, Henry, Scarlett and Elizabeth. Brother of the late Claire (late Paul Desrochers), Irène (Rémi Bellemare), Cécile (René Thibodeau), André (late Jeannine Martineau), Benoit (Rachel Jolicoeur), late René (late Carmen Lefebvre), Jeannine (Roger Nadeau), Thérèse (Robert Comtois), Denise (Roger Gendron) and the late Michel.

Jean-Marie, also known as “Johnny” was a retired Falconbridge miner who also had a passion for auto-mechanics. He spent numerous hours repairing and painting vehicles, but he was happiest when surrounded by his children. He was a loving, caring and giving husband and father. His wife and children were his world. We will always cherish his fun-loving spirit and his comical stories. We also admired his strength and resilience, surmounting every obstacle that came his way. A sort of “superman” in our eyes. He enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife and was always in the company of a loyal canine companion. He will go on living in the hearts and memories of his children and grandchildren but especially his devoted and loyal wife, our mother, Jeannine.

A private celebration of life will be held. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of North, Sudbury.
