It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jeannette Martel (née Thibault) at St. Joseph’s Villa, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 93 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and the late Ange-Aimée (née Plante). Dear wife of the late Conrad Martel (2006). Cherished mother of Gerald (Colette) of Gatineau, PQ, late Fernand (Betty-Anne) of Surrey, BC, Robert (Francine) of Coniston, ON, late Carmen (Marc Vaillancourt), late Jean-Paul, late Lise (Daniel Brazeau) and late Normand. Proud grandmother of Eric (Éliane), Guy (Emmanuelle), Amanda, Matthew, Joelle (Curtis), Natalie (Lamar), Julie (Jordan), Renée (Richard), Alain (Suzanne) and Alex Brazeau. Great grandmother of Remi, Hugo, Cedric, Francis, Aiden, Austin, Emma, Elyse, Malaika, Milana, Mila, Eddie, Lenon, Nève. She is survived by her sister Lucille (late Yoland Blais) and predeceased by Laurette (late Roger Brisson), Aimé, Jean-Marie (Jacqueline) and Jeannine Thibault.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation and a Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts or to the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Sudbury.
Arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.

Fille de feu Joseph et de feu Ange-Aimée (née Plante). Épouse bien-aimée de feu Conrad Martel (2006). Mère dévouée de Gerald (Colette) de Gatineau, PQ, feu Fernand (Bey-Anne) de Surrey, BC, Robert (Francine) de Coniston, ON, feu Carmen (Marc Vaillancourt), feu Jean-Paul, feu Lise (Daniel Brazeau) et feu Normand. Fière grand-mère d'Éric (Éliane), Guy (Emmanuelle), Amanda, Matthew, Joelle (Curtis), Natalie (Lamar), Julie (Jordan), Renée (Richard), Alain (Suzanne) et Alex Brazeau. Arrière-grand-mère de Remi, Hugo, Cedric, Francis, Aiden, Austin, Emma, Elyse, Malaika, Milana, Mila, Eddie, Lenon et Nève. Elle est survécue par sa sœur Lucille (feu Yoland Blais) et est précédée par Laurette (feu Roger Brisson), Aimé (Gilberte), Jean-Marie (Jacqueline) et Jeannine Thibault.
Pour respecter ses volontés, il n'y aura pas de visite et une célébration de sa vie sera annoncée à une date ultérieure.
Des dons en sa mémoire peuvent être faits à la Société Alzheimer de Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts ou à la Fondation St. Joseph de Sudbury.
Les arrangements funéraires ont été confiés à Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, et au crématorium Crystal.
