In loving memory of Jeannette Pettigrew (nee Bruneau) who passed away at Finlandia Village in Sudbury on Monday, August 14th, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Beloved mother of Brian Pettigrew (wife Deborah) of Sudbury, James Pettigrew (wife Laurie) of Sudbury, Brenda Hicks (late husband Melvin) of Milton and Debbie Lanktree (husband Richard) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sisters Denise Black of Calgary and Betty Gelineau of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her brothers David, André, Ferdinand, Hector, Jean, Gabriel, Joseph, and Aimé and by her sisters Anna, Georgina, Hélène, Sr. Thérèse, Claire and Marie. Jeannette was born in Marcelin, Saskatchewan on December 19, 1930 to parents Marie-Ida and Phillippe Bruneau. She came to Sudbury with her family as a young child. For several years, she worked as a receptionist at the Sudbury and District Health Unit. Some of her favourite pastimes were reading and watching television, especially Murdock Mysteries. She also had a real passion for real estate. Jeannette will be remembered as a strong willed and determined individual who would often fight for the underdog. She was always willing to help anyone in need. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation at Lakeview Crematorium. A celebration of Jeannette's life will take place at the Lockerby Legion on Long Lake Road on Friday, August 18th, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Prayers at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome to join the family to share your condolences with them and your great memories of Jeannette.
