It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Houle (née Dupuis) on November 22, 2024, at her home in Noelville, Ontario. After a courageous battle with cancer, she is now at peace.
Joanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard, and their three children, Megan (Kevin Montpellier), Julie, and Patrick (Lissa Lahaie). She was a cherished grandmother to Lea and Charlie. Predeceased by her father Hector, mother Lilette, brother Aimé (Janet) and sister-in-law Rachel, she is survived by her brothers Roger (Pauline), Dan (Suzanne), Paul (Sue), Walter (Sharlene), sister Monique Mearini (John) and sisters-in-law Helene (Mark) and Ginette (Claude). Joanne will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A devoted sports mom, Joanne created countless special moments for her family. She dedicated countless hours to supporting her children’s education, offering advice during personal challenges, and encouraging their many hobbies. Joanne often opened her home to friends and family, sharing her warmth and generosity. Alongside her husband Richard, she was a dedicated business owner, building a legacy based on hard work and community support. Her love for quilting, time spent at camp, and traveling with loved ones were among her many passions.
Throughout her cancer journey, Joanne exemplified bravery and joy, inspiring all who knew her. She will forever be a bright, guiding light to her family, embodying unconditional love, strength, and generosity.
A special thank you to her health care providers, Donna and Bibi, as well as the team at the Shirley & Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre, for their care and support.
