In loving memory of John Bates, who passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, with his family by his side at the age of 78 years.
John was a devoted father to David (Tammy), and a proud grandfather to Ashley (Roger), Kyle (Michelle), Derek (Linsey), David and Dylan. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Noah, Karson, Caylee, Aiden, all of whom brought him great joy.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Colleen (Jack), nephew Kevin (Lisa) and their children Ashley and Alex.
John had a passion for music and could often be found playing his guitar. He also enjoyed sports and had a special place in his heart for dogs. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, especially his friend Harry. He will be fondly remembered for being a wonderful friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his warm spirit, and the simple joys that meant so much to him.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
