Joseph Harold Kinghorn
February 18, 1930 – March 29, 2026
“In the early hours on Sunday, March 29, 2026, when all was quiet, I knew it was my time to leave. I couldn’t bear to say goodbye, so I left peacefully in my sleep. Joining my heavenly family.”
Our dad was born February 18th, 1930, to Mary and William Kinghorn of Saint John, New Brunswick. He was the youngest of 5 children, William (Bill), Ruth, Albert and Veron, all predeceased. Married to Lucy for 55 years, who is also predeceased. Survived by his five children, Suzanne, Ruth, Barbara, Sandra, and Allan, thirteen grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Jessica, Danielle, Randy, Ryan, Amanda, Jacqueline, Kendra, Tara, Lianne, Faith, and Hailey, as well as by his seventeen great grandchildren, Mason, Jaxon, Emma, Allora, Hayes, Myles, Mila, Luna, Dante, Emery, Cassian, Sofia, Emilia, Elias, Ezra, Cash, Banks and niece Mary Amber. He was the brother-in-law, godfather and uncle to many. He is loved dearly.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick and lived there until his family moved to Sudbury at the age of 19. He worked in the Creighton Mines for 35 years. During that time, he met his wife Lucy while in Hanmer picking blueberries, and they were married in 1961.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at the Church of Christ the King at 1:15 pm. A private burial will follow.
