Joyce Laurie Trudeau (née Gadabushie)

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Joyce Laurie Trudeau (née Gadabushie) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario.

Joyce was born in Espanola, Ontario. As a young girl she was raised in St. Catherines and moved to Sudbury as a young adult. She loved her work and her clients she served in her 25-year career as a Personal Support Worker.

Joyce was known for her silent strength and legendary sarcastic wit that could brighten any room.

She was the beloved life-partner and best friend of Edward “Eddie” Beland, and a proud mother to her sons Ricky Gadabushie (Chantelle), Kaleb Trudeau, and Talon Trudeau (Danielle).

Joyce’s legacy continues with her cherished grandchildren, JP, Jade, Ava, Sierra, Sparrow, Darius, and her great-granddaughters Iris and Rosaline.

Joyce was the dear daughter of the late Dora Gadabushie. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Dolphus (Diane), Brenda (Raul), Harold (Vicky), Norma (Barry), John (Karen) and the late Pauline. She was a cherished aunt to Carol, Alvin, Eric, Amanda, Melissa, Matthew, Katie, Jordan, Lucas, Adam, Jason, Colton, Kearah, Zachary, Jesse, and the late Corey and Roger Jr.

The family wishes to thank the medical team at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion during Joyce’s final days.

A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held later in the summer months of 2026.

Cremation with interment at Sagamok Anishnawbek Cemetery.
