Sykora, Julie (1951 – 2025)
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Julie Sykora announce her passing in Sudbury, on Sunday September 21, 2025 at the age of 74 years. Daughter of the late Jack and the late Winifred Kirkpatrick. Dear mother of Kirk Sykora (Angela) and Leslie-Anne Sykora. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Liberty, Marianne, late Zayd, Benjamin, Nicholas as well as by her great-granddaughter Violet. She is also survived by her sister Carol, niece Tanys (Jeff) and great nephew Morgan (Richard).
Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and long-time resident of the Sudbury area, Julie worked for many years as an elementary school teacher. Her faith was her passion. Julie brought lovely alto harmonies to many church choirs and once designed and sewed 20+ costumes for a faith-based play. Her gift of creativity came to life in four faith-based plays she wrote and produced with All Nations Church. At Christmas time, she bundled up and sang in the choir of the Living Nativity. Julie participated in and led various small group Bible studies where her interests in biblical history and teaching collided with her love for God and desire to connect with people.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
