It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karl Kotab formerly from South Porcupine, Ontario, on November 20, 2020. Karl was born in Strazov, Czechoslovakia on July 20, 1930. He arrived in Canada in the early 1950’s and met his wife of 64 years, Alice in Jasper, Alberta. Karl is survived by his wife Alice, and his children, Karl Jr., Paul (Elis), Rose and John (Vicky). His 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Victoria, Jennifer, Maria, Allison and Steven. His 6 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Gabrielle, Theo, Lucas, Jacob and Isabella. Karl began to work at Dome Mine in 1959, until he retired at age of 59. This is when his life began, as he was now a fulltime fisherman, yes he loved to wet his line as often as he wished. Karl had a sense of humor, adventure, and a love of all nature. He will be sadly missed and remembered. An extended thank you to all family, friends and healthcare professionals who helped Karl in his last years. At Karl’s request, there will be no service. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
