Kathryn (Kathy) Maureen (Cooke) Gallagher

On October 17 2023, Kathryn (Kathy) Maureen Gallagher (nee Cooke) passed away peacefully at HSN Sudbury after braving a lengthy decline in her health. Her strength, determination, and selflessness to fight on were rewarded with the birth of her first great grandchild a few months ago, a little girl lovingly known by her family as Poe.

Cherished wife of David, loving mother of Maureen Vanderveer of St. Catherines and Wendy (Trevor) Grant of Sudbury. She was grandmother to Kendra and Emily O'Brien, Kyle (Brooklyn) and Liam Grant, and great grandmother to Portland Grant. She was predeceased by her best friend of 60 plus years Linda Ashton (nee McCarthy) this year.

Her greatest accomplishment was the raising of her two beautiful daughters, who have gone on to raise their own wonderful families.

Her greatest pleasure was her time in the kitchen, lovingly preparing meals that brought her family together. In her spare time, she loved to work on her miniatures, examples of which are spread around the house.

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A family celebration will be held in the spring. Cremation arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
