Kevin McArthur
April 27, 1963– March 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Kevin McArthur on March 14, 2026, at Health Sciences North, surrounded by his loved ones.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Barbara McArthur and Rodney McArthur his Grandparents Keith and Ruth Harkins; Archie and Ruby McArthur and his Uncle Robert Harkins. He leaves behind his loving daughter Samantha and her husband John Irving, Kevin was a proud and devoted Papa to his cherished granddaughter Lily. He will be deeply missed by his sister Lori McArthur, his brother Stephen McArthur, and his niece Erica Scoville, Nephew Taylor McArthur, and Neice Tiffany McArthur. Kevin will also be fondly remembered by his aunt Marg Harkins, his cousins Jennifer Harkins, Heather Harkins, Robert Harkins, Sarah, Susie, and Jason, as well as many friends.
Kevin grew up in Long Lake and spent many years working as a lighting technician starting his career with Half Nelson and eventually moving to California to work for Strand Century Lighting. Kevin had a love for music he was known for his dedication and skill. Kevin retired from his career at Science North for over 30years. Outside of work, Kevin had a lifelong love of trains and was an active member of the train club at the Capreol Train Museum.
He also loved spending time mini biking and Saturday night pool with his friends Rob Pernu and D’Arcy Closs, creating many memories together over the years. Kevin had a special place in his heart for his beloved Grand Fur Babies Radar, Theodore and Zeke. He loved his cuddles with his cat Nitro; they all brought him much joy and companionship.
Kevin faced heart issues in recent years but remained surrounded by the love of family and friends. His kindness, humour, and passions will be remembered by all who knew him.
A special thanks to the ICU team at HSN Kevin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A Celebration of life will be held at Eddies Restaurant, 1769 Regent Street, Sudbury, on April 18th from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
