Kimberly Anne Connelly
June 7th, 1958 – April 3rd, 2026
Kimberly Anne Connelly, age 67, of Mattawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. Born June 7, 1958, to Joan Zufelt and Claire Connelly, Kim was raised with the love and guidance of her mother and her father, Jim Cotter.
She was a woman of remarkable resilience and quiet wit, who lived a life centered on caring for her family and the many friends who became family.
Kim was known for her unwavering “open door policy”—everyone was welcome. Whether someone needed a warm meal, a place to stay, or simply a listening ear, Kim was always there. She was a familiar and beloved presence in her community, enjoying slow-pitch and dedicating her time to organizing youth sports in Calvin.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: a good cup of tea, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leaf’s and the Toronto Blue Jays, and spending time with her loyal pets, Cotter and Taz. Kim also felt a deep connection to Indigenous culture and traditions, and she cherished sharing in drumming, teachings, and activities with her dear friend Lorraine. One of her greatest joys was time spent with Hannah, passing along her love of baking and the art of preparing meals—lessons that will carry on for generations.
She was the devoted mother of Kelly (Jason), Jamie (Melissa), and Sandy (Kahlie), and a proud and loving grandmother to Alexa, Saige, Presley, Ripley, Anika, Gabriel, Cadance, and Brooklynn, and great-grandmother to Elias and Elena.
Kim is also survived by her brothers, David (Donna) and Jim (Jody). She was a cherished aunt to Kate and Sira, as well as Brittany, Shawna, Maddison, and Jack. She was predeceased by her mother, Joan; her father, Jim; and Claire Connelly.
A woman who met life’s challenges with strength, practicality, and a sense of humor, Kim taught those around her what it truly means to persevere. She will be fondly remembered for her legendary Christmas boxes of baked goods, and for her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home.
In keeping with her generous spirit, Kim gave the gift of life through organ donation, helping others through the donation of her lungs and eyes—an enduring reflection of the kindness she showed throughout her life.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (https://mscanada.ca/) in her memory.
Cremation and funeral services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
