Laura Cresswell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Laura Cresswell, on June 13, 2026, at Health Sciences North, at the age of 64.

Laura was predeceased by her parents, Don and Gail Cresswell. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer (Marc) and Tracy (Nathan); her cherished granddaughters, Abigail and Manon; her brother, Doug Cresswell (Toby); her nephew, Connor; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Laura's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her daughters fiercely and was incredibly proud of the women they became. Becoming a grandmother brought her a special kind of happiness, and she treasured every moment she spent with Manon and Abigail. They were truly the light of her life.

Anyone who knew Laura knew that she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She cared deeply for the people around her and often put the needs of others before her own. Whether it was offering support, sharing advice, or simply being there when someone needed her, Laura gave generously of herself.

Laura was also wonderfully creative. She loved crafting, decorating, and transforming ordinary items into something beautiful. There wasn't a project she wouldn't tackle, and everything she touched seemed to become something special. She had a gift for seeing potential where others might not and took great pride in turning her ideas into creations that reflected her personality and creativity.

When she wasn't crafting Laura enjoyed spending time with those closest to her, her cat Floyd, playing bingo and making memories with those that she loved most.  Laura also had a wonderful sense of humour, a quick wit, and just the right amount of sass. Those who loved her often joked that her daughters and granddaughters inherited more than a few of those traits, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Laura will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, generosity, and the deep love she had for her family. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the memories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.

In keeping with Laura's wishes, the family asks that those wishing to honour her memory consider making a donation to a charity of their choice.

The family warmly invites relatives and friends to join them as they honour and celebrate Laura's life on Saturday, June 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Le Rendez-vous de Vallée Est, 26 Cote Blvd, Hanmer, ON, P3P 1X5. In keeping with one of Laura's favourite pastimes, family and friends are also invited to continue the evening at Valley Bingo in Val Caron at 7:00 p.m. to share memories, laughter, and celebrate the many wonderful moments she brought into our lives.
