Bélanger, Lawrence (Laurent) 1933-2021

The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, Tuesday March 9th, 2021 at the age of 87 years.  Son of the late Fidèle Bélanger and of the late Rose Lévesque. Predeceased by his wife Claire Bélanger (née Blake). Dear father of Diane Bertrand (Bert), Rachel Bélanger and Jo-Anne Bélanger. Lawrence will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michelle Gervais (Robert) and Justin Michaud, Jennifer Bertrand, Albert Bertrand Jr and Angel Baby Amanda, as well as by his great grandchildren Jacob Gervais, Sébastien Gervais, step great grandchildren Eric, Vincent, and Spencer Bertrand. Survived by his sisters Simone Labranche (late Jean) and Réjeanne Grondin.  Predeceased by his brothers and Sister Armand (late Lilianne), Léonard “Papou” and Jeannine. Also survived by the son he wishes he had Richard Blake (brother-in-law). He will be fondly remembered by in-laws, nephews, and nieces. He will also be missed dearly by special friend of over 20 years Dot Taillefer. Lawrence’s passions were fishing, bowling, golfing, playing darts and horseshoe, he was also a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto NHL and did a lot of volunteer work as a Firefighter in Minnow Lake. Lawrence worked for many years for INCO. He was a kind and generous person who loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. The family would like to also say a special thank you to Dr. Halo and his team, also Bayshore Home Health (PSW Ryan). Due to pandemic conditions, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
