Lorne Milner Armstrong (1943 – 2025)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lorne Milner Armstrong on December 8, 2025, at the age of 82 years, surrounded by his family at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 58 years to Virginia (Ginny) (nee McDonald). Loving father of Madeleine (Doug Reaume), Melanie (Jason Yurko), and Tom. Cherished Papa of Doug Jr., Hayden, Tanner, and Ava. He is survived by his brother Norman of British Columbia, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was always proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
Lorne dearly loved his cat Missy, and was a devoted fan of the Sudbury Wolves, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Toronto Blue Jays. For 27 years Lorne worked at the Inco Copper Cliff Smelter. He loved tending to his yard until his health declined and then enjoyed sitting outside on his porch with Ginny.
The family would like to thank Don McDonald and Louise Tessier for helping Lorne with his appointments, and Tom, for taking amazing care of him at home for the last 3 years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 4 North at Health Sciences North.
Please join us as we gather to celebrate the wonderful life of Lorne Armstrong, father/husband/grandfather/uncle/friend, July 12, 1943 - December 8, 2025. Although our hearts are heavy, our family would like to honour him with a Celebration of Life. Bring your favourite memories and stories to share together. It will be held on February 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Moose Lodge, lower hall, 230 Frood Road Sudbury.
